‘LIVE’ at the Little Theatre – ALL THAT (NOLA Brass-Funk-Jazz-Rock-Rap)

“Coming from New Orleans, the city of jazz, we got that combination of funk, jazz and brass for your ass …”

In the mid-1990s, pianist, singer and WWOZ DJ Davis Rogan joined forces with Kirk Joseph of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band to create a groundbreaking mix of brass band horns, funky drums, rock guitar and rap anchored by the lowdown bass sounds of Kirk’s sousaphone. With Keith “Wolf”Anderson (trombonist from the Rebirth Brass Band), Brice Miller (trumpet player for the Mahogany Brass Band), and stalwarts of the nascent Frenchmen Street scene Ben Ellman (saxophonist from the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars & Galactic), Alex McMurray (guitarist from Royal Fingerbowl & The Tin Men) and drummer Kevin O’Day (Fingerbowl, Klezmers, Iris, Michael Ray) the band shattered genre boundaries.

All That’s music was rooted in New Orleans vibes and grooves, but the sound was also new, and irresistibly hip shaking and funky. All That made good time danceable music with lyrics that ranged from socially conscious to downright silly. All That’s first album, Eponymous Debut, was released in 1997 and won the Offbeat Award for best Funk Album. Eponymous Debut also features appearances from special guests Chaddy and Keng of Iris May Tango and Stanton Moore and Theryl DeClouet from Galactic. The record is a snapshot of what proved to be an incredibly fertile period in New Orleans music history.

The current lineup of ALL THAT features original members – Kirk Joseph (Dirty Dozen Brass Band), Alex McMurray (The Tin Men), Davis Rogan (DJ Davis) plus special guests!

This concert is going to be a showcase of New Orleans music and we are decorating the Little Theatre with a Mardi Gras theme ~ we encourage people to wear purple, green & gold to celebrate Carnival time!

This show is presented by Good Earth Records & The Bay St. Louis Little Theatre ~

DOORS are at 7 pm with the show starting at 8. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Find your tickets here.

Live from the Little Theatre – BLUES NIGHT featuring JD Simo Duo (Nashville) plus Stud Ford & Will Coppage (Mississippi Delta)

We’re so happy to welcome the great JD SIMO back to the Bay Saint Louis Little Theatre on Thursday, May 1st!

If you were here for his EPIC show with Luther Dickinson last September, you know what’s in store—deep, swampy grooves and soulful melodies that pull you deep into a swirling, trippy haze of sound. The JD Simo Duo takes fans on a visceral, edge-of-your-seat journey. Joining JD again is the unstoppable Adam Abrashoff on drums, locking in for a greasy, no-holds-barred duo set that’ll shake the walls and rattle your soul.

Opening the night we welcome our friend and Mississippi Delta Blues man Will Coppage, featuring Stud Ford on drums—grandson of the legendary T-Model Ford. Stud grew up playing drums with his grandfather since he was six, and you can hear that juke-joint spirit in every beat.

This is a rare chance to catch JD up close as he makes this special stop, flying in just for this show and his late-night Jazz Fest set with Luther Dickinson—before jetting back out to hit the road and play Wicked Game on a whole other stage… stay tuned!

BBQ available for purchase from That Boy Good BBQ Bay St. Louis ☆ so come HUNGRY! This show is brought to you by Good Earth Records.

Tickets are $25 in advance & $30 at the door. Doors at 6:00 and first band at 7:30. Find your tickets here.
