One-Act Originals by Mississippi Playwrights
March 24-25, 2017
The Bay St. Louis Little Theatre presents “Mississippi Writes Original (MWO): One-Acts!”
Join us in March of 2017 for eight (8) original one-act plays written by Mississippians and performed upon the historic stage of the Bay St. Louis Little Theatre in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Each work has been carefully selected from out of a general submission-pool of remarkable entries and will come to life on-stage in conjunction with our annual Tennessee Williams Tribute on March 24-25, 2017. On each night of the event, four (4) original one-acts — powerful snapshots of significant moments in human (and Mississippian) experience, whether comedic or tragic or inspirational or otherwise — will be presented along with a classic Tennessee Williams one-act play. Following the performances, the audience is invited to remain in the auditorium for a “Conversation-with-Creatives” reception, where the cast, crew, director, producer, and writers will gather to take questions and share their insights personally with all present.
The MWO Originals (in alphabetical order):
Charlene Woodham Brickman (Ocean Springs) – “The Road to Natchez”
Katrina Byrd (Jackson) – “Hooked”
Courtney Clark (Cleveland) – “Picking Up the Pieces”
